spontaneous patches

2023, Eindhoven

Can I also take care of public green spaces ?

Public spaces in the Netherlands are maintained according to a pre-established «image quality level» ranging from A+ to D published in the Public Space Quality Catalogue. Any unplanned growth is labelled as a «weed» (onkruid).

The more «weeds» on a patch, the lowest its score.

Following the strategy of the plants who were not part of the plan, I initiated spontaneous actions around the Eindhoven.

These absurd interventions allowed me to test the boundaries of the system and get to know the different actors who are part of it.
